McWaters is on a mission to find the best and the brightest young talent to add to its staff.
Their search recently took them to a career fair at Georgia Southern University.
"We've had multiple designers come to us from GSU's accredited program and they've all be wonderful," said Andrew Renaud . "We definitely plan on going back to the university."
Interior Designer Avonlea Denney and Account Manager Caroline Graham, both GSU alumnae, set up their booth with carpet and fabric samples—along with some candy and St. Patrick's Day decorations to break the ice. As the only company representing the furniture industry, the McWaters booth gave GSU students a unique insight into a potential career path.
The McWaters booth was popular at the event, thanks to in part McWaters' glowing reputation in the industry—not to mention great benefits like work-life balance, a supportive work culture, and the opportunity to work with some of the best products in the industry.
"We met a lot of great interior design students who would be perfect for internships and full-time positions," said Avonlea Denney. "It was a very successful day!"
After the event, a few members of the McWaters team who graduated from GSU toured the new design building on campus and met with their former professors.
McWaters also invited GSU students to visit the Augusta office where they'll be able to check out the resource library, see Steelcase products in person, and ask the entire design team questions about commercial design. GSU hopes to take a group of students to McWaters every semester.
"I had a wonderful experience when I was in GSU's design program, said Caroline Graham, a McWaters designer and GSU alumnae. "I'm so happy I'm able to go back to campus and introduce McWaters and talk about different career paths in the commericial design industry."
Do you know a student at Lower Richland High who is interested in joining a great company with opportunities for growth? We'll be there on May 18th to talk about careers with McWaters
