Meet Erin

March 11, 2017

Erin Cole, Workplace Consultant--Charleston Location

Education: University of Kentucky

Erin joined the McWaters team in August 2016 after relocating from D.C. to Charleston. Erin grew up visiting Charleston on vacation and is excited to finally be able to call the city her home.

What drew you to McWaters?

Initially, I was just really excited about the opportunity to help grow a new market from the ground up. But once I started talking with William, Joey, and everyone else, I realized what a close-knit group McWaters had. I was intrigued with how McWaters is like a family across all their offices and having that family atmosphere at work was really comforting since I was moving and putting down new roots in Charleston.

Once I got here I could immediately see that my instincts were correct. Everyone genuinely cares about each other, the betterment of the company, and giving the best customer service possible to clients.

What experience do you feel you are bringing to the team?

I worked for a Steelcase dealer in D.C. and coming from such a large market to a smaller one, I think I have a different strategic point of view. I have experience with demounted walls. It’s something I worked with a lot in D.C. and I’ve been able to educate a lot of our architectural partners in Charleston about the product. These are glass partitions for offices that you can add to or move around really easily. So, instead of having to completely tear down a space, do construction, and distribute your client’s work every time they need to reconfigure their space, you can use this product and do it fairly seamlessly and easily.

How do you build relationships in the area?

The McWaters team has been great in helping me get build our network in the area. The team had a lot existing connections that they helped introduce me to. I also meet a lot of people through my professional organizations CREW and CID and my volunteer work with the Florence Crittenton House.

How has the community received you?

The architects, brokers, developers, general contractors, and just everyone else down here are so warm and genuine. They’ve been really receptive to meeting with me and hearing what I have to say, and helping me connect with others.

How would you describe the culture at McWaters?

The resources here are just great. The teams says that they want to support me and they really mean it. Jessica has helped introduce me to a lot of the architecture firms down here. We also have top-notch designers who have been great to work with and our A/V team is extremely knowledgeable. Integrating me into the team has just been seamless and I’ve been really impressed by that.

McWaters already has a great reputation down here and people seem really excited that we’re going to have a full-time presence in the market.
